Contending for the Faith - A thoughtful discussion.
In these pages I hope you find a perspective of the Christian Faith and Christian Living in the Lord God Almighty that both challenges and encourages you. My intent is to examine topics in such a way as to challenge assumptions and perceptions, starting with my own. I hope, whether or not you agree with my perspective, that in the end we both make decisions based upon the Bible, and maybe our understanding of God's Word will be richer for the thoughtful discussion we have.
I should note that this site is based on the premise that we are both Believers in the Son of God, Jesus of Nazareth, who was born, lived, died for our sins and was raised again to life according to the Scriptures as it states in I Corinthians 15:3-6.
Without this commonality between us it is likely that the name for this site will be all too true, our time together will be very contentious, full of disagreement and possibly outright argument. If you don't accept Jesus as the Son of God and the only way to have eternal life and be saved from punishment for your own sins, then I would ask that you take a moment to consider Him and who the Bible claims He is.
If we are both Believers in Jesus Christ then we have a common hope and the opportunity to strengthen each other. Listed to the left are topics for us to chew on, grapple with, discuss and thus be a part of the exhortation onto spiritual maturity. It may be very discomforting at times. I do not claim to have the right or best answers to the issues we will tackle together, what I offer is a different perspective and some insight that I think is unique, but insight that I hope always aligns with Scripture and not one of my own making. I am challenging you as a believer to consider this information and pray about it with the Father, may truth come directly from Him through prayer and studying the Bible.
To understand where I am coming from you will want to read about how I view the Bible as well as learn what the Bible says about the character and nature of God and His purpose for miracles. These foundations will clear up many concerns or questions that may arise. The Apostle Paul laid out a strong foundation (I Corinthians 3:10) of doctrine and encourages all believers to build upon this foundation of which Christ is the cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20), I hope God finds me carefully building.
